Thanks go out to the Canadian Tire Foundation for their more than generous donation. Steve's Welding, Port Robinson, designed, fabricated and donated the materials for our portable safety mounting ramp! Thanks also to: Ontario Duct Cleaning: Annual Ad Sponsorship contact: Larry Annan; Maureen Kaufman: Annual Rider Sponsorship.
Hats off to these supporters of Horse Alternative Therapeutic Services. H.A.T.S. is now able to provide all adults and children the opportunity to experience the beneficial movement and views from atop our horses! Thank you all so much!!

Through various sponsors, H.A.T.S. has recieved a number of special gifts, among them our new "Loading Ramp"... Our wish list, however, is long. We still need a number of large items beyond our budget, as well as items that are used during our regular weekly lessons.

Some of our Needs

Riding helmets have been purchased through a grant from the Ontario Therapeutic Riding Association ONTRA. We now have enough approved safety helmets in a variety of sizes to allow all riders access to our riding programs at a savings to them as they won't need to purchase their own.

Bit Attachment Suede covered cotton web attachment snaps to bit with a D-ring to connect your lead line or longe line. Rein-Aid An elasticized insert for your reins. Attaches between the bit and your reins, give your horse a softer, more comfortable connection to your hands. Improves the rider's ability to feel and follow the contact. A leather control loop allows the rein to stretch just so much, even a strong horse can be stopped as easily as with traditional reins.

Pro Vaulting Surcingle Made of supple leather and well padded for horse's comfort. Leather covered handles are angled slightly for more therapeutic options. Foot loops on both sides and a hand loop at the withers.Ladder Reins Ladder reins make grasping reins easier for those who have less motor control. Cotton webbing with adjustable snap ends

Supracor Bareback Pad Beautifully made bareback pad features Stimulite Honeycomb (pictured above right), a revolutionary cushioning material which is highly effective in preventing and healing pressure sores in wheelchair users. Ideal for therapeutic riding, the rider's feel of the horse is heightened due to the flexing action of the honeycomb cells.

Peacock Safety Stirrups Classic safety stirrups designed to release the foot upon a fall. Breaks away using a heavy duty rubber band and leather tab Foot Free Safety Stirrups The sculptured outer edge allows the foot to slide out in the event of a fall. Devonshire Boots Recommended for preventing feet from sliding through stirrups. Sturdy leather boxed toe molded around stainless steel fillis stirrups.
